For those who have never seen them, here are a couple of links to some films made during the making of EVE. Nostalgia! Also interesting to see how things have changed for those joining us in EXODUS.

Got time for this during the downtime.
BTW.
Can I buy the boxed version (to get the manual) I can then use the cd key to switch to paying account etc yeah?
Is there a manual btw? I think I'd rather have the boxed version w/ manual rather than buy online. Unless... Can I order a manual?
UPDATE: Kewl movie. Hard to understand some of the things they're saying through the heavy accents, but interesting none-the-less.

No manual can help you play this game. You have to learn as you go. I imagine that would work, but it's kinda pointless since you can buy a gametime card for the same price.

I still like to have a manual to read while I'm not playing the game. Its always good reference too.
There is a manual though right? Is it a big one? Wonder if they offer it in pdf format...
I applied for sector game btw.

There might be. Easier just to print stuff from the web, there must be five hundred EVE fansites floating around. And I just accepted your app.

Yay!
So what exactly do we do with the corporations?
Do you assign missions or are we meant to do something rather?
I'm aiming to become the muscle for escorts and what not some day, but for now I just need to work my skills up.
So what's the plan etc? Any major advantages?

We do nothing specific. Mining, Construction, Research, Group Missions, Ratting, Ninja Mining, Bounty Hunting, etc. Just generally have fun. And there will other cool things too. You'll learn more soon.

Mk.
So basically just do whatever until the corp decides to do something?
There's nothing I have to do in particular? Anything I can do that will further the corp?

Well, if you like combat, focus on that area. I guess that includes Engineering, Electronics and Navigation which are all useful to combat. Since you've just started, you should keep doing missions until you have access to another agent that'll dish out better rewards. Social skills will help increase your bonus, standings and access to agents. Combat agents are good because it's faster.
Once you've settled in, we'll think more about what you can do next. Corp activities are limited ATM, but we like to hang around with each other for different tasks.

Ah k.
The time issue is a big one with the training of stats.
I'd like to *eventually* see myself as the enforcer of the corporation. Helping to protect miners and related escort / battle missions.
Is there a faction I can do missions for that get a better standing with everyone?
I read somewhere about the Sisters of something rather? Some combat missions with them might be a good idea, if I can find them that is.
Thanks for helping me out with all this btw.

It depends on where you want to operate really. One of the directors for WoR can't go into Caldari space anymore because he has been doing combat missions for the Gallente Fed Navy for the past year.

If you train a couple of social skills more basic level agents will open up, including combat ones (Security, Internal Security, Surveillence and Command)

Yeah I just started doing some missions for a guy on the second station in Renyn.
Combat too.
Things are starting to get trickier though, so I'm pushing harder to get my Merlin into action.
