My dentist is the shittiest in the Western world.

Ok, so, a year ago I had a filling put in a tooth, today, that filling, and part of the tooth fell out. This is not the first time I've had problems with my dentist.

About 6-7 years ago I had major surgery on my jaw, following 4 years of braces, and lots of uncomfortable/painful adjustments etc etc, it left me with a phobia of dentists. My dentist keeps telling me that I don't need Anaesthetic for fillings etc, regardless of what I want, and keeps doing crap NHS work. I've so far paid out over 3K in dental fees to this dentist and feel like they've done nothing to help my teeth whatsoever. I always find dental treatment painful, and yet they are more concerned with saving money.

I think it's time to go private and get all this crap dealt with once and for all, even if it costs me a few more grand.

Quite frankly, I'm in the mood to get it done under general anaesthetic. I know there is a risk, but I just want to go to sleep and wake up with my teeth fixed. I can't let anyone near my mouth with a drill any more.

Owch.

Are you able to switch doctors?

Otherwise Private may sound like the go...

Ah... I was forgetting that you guys have a health plan like that... Here, it's almost all private. But you all know that already.

Yeah, I'm going to go to another Dentist next week and apply to be a patient there, but I still hate the idea of having yet more work done on them. Every single one of my 6 front-upper teeth are already crowns, and I probably need about another 3. I'm just fed up with it :(

It'd be better if we all refused to pay certain taxes until the NHS was fixed.

Alas no, problem is, what most countries don't realise is that's it's not down to our dental hygeine, it's down the fact that, for example, we recently had someone arrested for pretending to be a dentist and getting away with it for 3 years without a qualificiation.

If it takes that long for people to notice, it doesn't say much about the quality of our qualified dentists ;)

Wow... I just avoid the dentist... Mine is the opposite though, he does everything he can, and makes it really expensive, like, charge for 3 fillings, when he infact only filled 2 that visit...

They're all rich, corrupt people who golf WAY too much, and should be ripped limb for limb...

My teeth are actually very good. And I never visit the dentist.

My worst problem is that I chipped a molar one time long ago. The dentist made it worse, so I stay clear of them...

I'm very paranoid about my teeth. I /never/ want to have to get impressions taken again... I had to get them taken 6 times in 30 minutes, once. Owch.

Yeah, been through that myself, it's like being choked to death with frozen plasticine, not very pleasant at all :(

From reading you guy's tales I seem to have done pretty well by dentists. 'course, I only go for the odd cleaning(which a dental hygenist does and dentist looks me over once they get done.) and I've had my Wisdom Teeth removed, which I healed about 25% faster than they thought I should.
