Besides Descent 3 how good are the first two in the series?

I'm gonna go with 2. I love D3 but D2 is like a super charged version of D1.

I'd have to go with 3, since that's the only one I've played multiplayer on heavily; plus, it introduced a boatload of new features. Second from that would be 1, just because of its innovation and downright fear factor. 2 was great, and it was the first Descent game I played, but it wasn't much more than a graphical update to 1 with twice as many weapons. I still love playing it in the Revivals, though.

2, thouch 3 is very fun too

Descent 2. It's fun in the fact that it's systemactic (i.e. get blue key, get yellow key, get red key, then beat the stuffing out of the reactor\boss robot, and make a beelin toward the exit (disregaurding the last level).

I've never played a net game, except when my dad and I did once over our LAN connection, even then it would conk out about every ten minutes. (I did bust his ass a couple time, amazing what a constant stream of laser fire will get you. Get this I was using keyboard controls at the time vs. a Sidewinder Pro.)

I saw a screenshot on the web of what resolutions you can set descent 3 to and since I'll be getting it soon is there any way to set it to 1280*1024?
