Bloody cops, always where they don't need to be.
:x
I got a ticket this morning for doing 66 in a 35 zone. Yeah, I know I am in the wrong, I admit that. But how am I going to pay my rent and a $350(it may be more, the least it will be is $154) dollar traffic citation? I pray to God I can go to Traffic School instead...

That's the approximate equivalent of 110 in a 60 zone. 50 kms over - you'd probably lose your licence over here.

And what am I supposed to do if they take my license?

Stop speeding.

You can't blame anyone other than yourself, though. I don't know if you're talking kmph or mph in terms of speed limit, but over here the 30 (mph) zone is usually reserved for urban areas where there's a pedestrian risk, so going over 1 and a half times the limit just isn't acceptable.

It's MPH, and I don't usually go that fast in that area. I just forgot where I was in my haste to get to work.

Well, let them know you are willing to pay the fine, but tell them of your financial situation, they may be able to arrange installements or the like.

You got caught this time, and, as you say, you've no-one to blame but yourself, so I'd recommend caughing up, and consider low-cash consequences as a reminder not to do it again ;)

I do agree though that the Police are more interested in 'low risk' prosecutions (see my next thread).

Actually, had you been doing even 1.5 times the speed limit in Mass, you can lose your liscence for driving to endanger...
