Well... I've basically just lost my job...

No, I wasn't fired... but my store is closing. I've been there for a year and a half... and now they're shutting down.
I should be happy. I have an excuse to get a real job, now, but I'm bummed... Basically Comes March, the store'll be empty. THe week after next, everyon'es hours are getting cut dramatically...
...and what's worse... management isn't fessing up to it. I had to find it out from a coworker, who got it from her boss, who will divulge info in confidence... But they are all taking their sick days, vacations, and personal days.
Now I have to go look for a new job... Stay there for an extended period of time, to build back my credit. (Because I was hoping to buy a new car some time in the future...)
Sucks, that. *sigh*

good luck Raa, looks like you'll need it.
At least you have advance warning though - think of the co-workers who don't, and the store closing catches them by surprise...

London justice.... it's an aparthotel thing. I'm sure it's very nice, but I'll be bored off my tits for a week there, let alone 3.

Hey, at least you have a job. I'm sitting in High School with almost no income. And there is a crap load of thing I'd like to buy.

Welcome to the real world, kid.
I'm sitting in college without a job... and not much prospect of finding one in a college town. At least I'm building my resume by doing some volunteer work.

See, thing is I can't afford college unless I have a job. SO I kind'a have to get one, and can't just sit around saying... 'Oh I wish I had a job.'
You have to go looking for one, if you want one.
Which is what I'll be doing for the next couple of weeks.

Don't discount the State Employment Service, Raa. I've gotten several promising leads from them recently.
