Obi Wan was indeed strong in the Force...

Just thinking, what are the odds of someone taking a step out of real life for 30 years, bumping into the only other Jedi around, and then walk into a bar, onto a YT1300 transport and sit, on a crate, right next to a Jedi training droid, a device that hasn't been used in 3 decades.

Spooky that ;)

Maybe Han used the training droid? Granted not to the level a Jedi uses but still. It could be an internal security device that Obi Wan jury rigged, we have to assume since it's on an semi-criminal ship that it has lethal settings.

No so much, on the plot holes part, *if* you take the series as a whole about Anakin being the chosen one who will bring balance back to the force by ending the Sith. After all there are only ever 2 Sith at any one time, and in Jedi, Anakin kills Vader and Sidious/Palpatine the only 2 Sith of the time, so with no Sith Lord to conscript a new student the Sith has ended.

I heard a different take on the whole "balance" prophecy that sounded rather interesting. Anakin brought balance to the Force by balancing the number of Jedi and Sith, not by causing the Sith to be wiped out. There are only ever two Sith, so for the Force to be balanced there would have to be only two Jedi. So Darth Vader kills off all the Jedi and finally kills Obi-Wan. That brings Jedi Master Yoda and Jedi-in-training Luke into balance with Sith Master Palpatine and Sith-in-training Darth Vader.

I've always wondered if the prophecy was simply misinterpreted and actually refered to Luke. :D

Also, it's never fully in balance. Anakin cleared the decks on the galactic scene, but not in the shadows.

Exactly Goober, that WAS the prophecy, that Anakin would bring balance to the Force...

Yoda + Obi-Wan
Sidious + Vadar.

So that the Jedi now equalled the Sith ;)

As for 'Force Users' I think they were a grey area not light or dark side.

As for the training droid, well Han was a self-confessed blaster lover, and at least the droid help explains luke's 'training' so it was needed, it was just the simple fact he doesn't even ask Han if he has a training droid or anything, he just reaches down and there it is..... ;)

I always thought bringing balance to the force meant turning back from the dark to the light.... AFAIK that was the first time anyone had 'escaped' the dark side.

I'm not sure myself, to be honest.

You see, it's never actually confirmed that Anakin is the 'chosen one', only assumed, it could theoretically be that Luke is the one to restore the unblance created by Anakins betrayal of the Jedi....

Hmmmm.. I shall think upon this ;)

Ah, but Anakin was 'conceived by the midicholorianianouunianianians'.

Exactly (I could slap George for bringing those and the whole 'immaculate conception' thing into the plot). But maybe it was the Union of Anakin and whatserface that produces the 'chosen one', Anakin basically serves to reduce the force to 2 'light' and 2 'dark' jedi. Luke actually reduces it still further to 1 partially trained Jedi only...

Though Leia, of course, is starting to become a Force user, but she is a long long way from being a Jedi.

Uhm, about that droid... they're not only useful for training Jedi. *If* I remember correctly, that's actually for blaster/combat training.

I seem to recall a scene in AOTC though that had a whole room of Padawan practising with these whilst Obi told Yoda he'd lost a planet?

In all fairness though, I suppose if you could turn the power up on them, they'd make useful automated defence droids on board starships :)

but by luke killing vader and repolpulatung the jedi, he shifted the balance back to the lightside no?
