Also, if i got a 49 english, 51 math on the PSAT's, without studying, i can hope to do a bit better this time, right?

Never took the SAT, I took the ACT and scored a 23. A score of 18 or above is considered good, and if you score above a 30(my brother got a 29, IIRC) most schools will give you a free ride.

I only took the SAT's once. Had no idea what to expect, since I didn't take any practice tests... I scored an 1120, which wasn't bad. It's not spectacular, but it'll get me into most decent colleges. I'm really not worried about it now, though, since I'm getting my AA degree in December, and that's more important than some standardizzed test.

Well, average is about 1000ish nationally... I need at least a 1250, or i'll never hear the end of it from my parents...

All standardized tests really do is test you're ability to take standardized tests.

It's true. You could be super intelligent, but since you don't know what a Yacht is, you can lose a great deal of credit on an entire section.

Some buggers in NYC were complaining about it, because being the poor inner city kids they claim to be, they've no idea what a yacht is. Or so they claimed.

The SAT's arn't that bad. Study vocabulary the most as it will come in handy. Since you're taking them before January you still have the analogy section to gain lots of points. IE. cat is to kitten as dog is to ...?
