I just spent about 40 or 50 bucks on alcohol at Oktoberfest, plus $15 for a six pack earlier in the afternoon and I'm not in any way pissed. I've been drinking fairly steadily from 3 PM this afternoon til about 12:30 AM. In total, I had two red bears (cheap ass lolly water - I need to use 'em up) and three cans out of my six pack before I went, five cups of bundy and 4 shots of schnapps while I was there ( I know i's a beer festival, but I don't drink beer, so I consider it an, err... drunkeness festival...or something) and one more middy of bundy at the pub after I got back. And I'm dead straight. Now, I know overall that's not a helluva lot, over the course of about 9 hours, but I still expected to get something. Not to be I guess.
I did, however, gain two chairs. Woot.

Now, the time to get
really pissed off is when you wake up tomorrow with a hangover for no apparent reason
Trust me, this happens sometimes

I don't get hangovers, partially because I drink a lot of water before bed, and partially becauser I'm just plain awesome.

Which, that I'm awesome, or that I don't get hangovers?

I've never understood the human desire to imbibe depressants until they can't walk normally, speak normally or in some cases even remain conscious.
My cognitive systems malfunction enough as it is without help.

Last night we had a frat party, I took 11 shots of Crown Royal and drank 3 beers in about 2/3 hours. I then passed out in a chair to wake up this morning still drunk.......it was awesome

The point being?
I think that's what I'm asking, I've never even been around much alcohol in my life(i'm 26) so I don't see the attraction. Especially beer, how can you drink something that smells like a month old latrine?

^ Ditto on that. I can drink a beer... And Stella Artois is pretty good, but tend to keep a lot of Budweiser, yet it doesn't really do anything for me. I find it works better when your drinking it with someone special. So long as you don't get too pissed

Thank you, I agree completely. I'm enough of a nutjob sometimes *without* getting drunk/stoned/whatever. (Just talk to my RPG group players about can-canning squierrels.) I don't *need* that kind of help.

Beer i nasty, bundy, especially tapped bundy, on the other hand... Also Schnapps (Butterscotch, chocolate etc.), Baileys and a bunch of other spirits are very drinkable, either mixed or shot. Things are more fun when you're a bit drunk - being fully wrecked generally sucks, but not being sober can often make an evening more enjoyable. It's a cultural thing too I guess...

Meh, beer=okay ... Other than when i look drunk when i'm completely sober, I can go through sevral cans before i start
showing signs of being drunk... I wouldn't put money on my reliability at driving and such though...
Oh, and i only say beer is okay, because of the few things i've tried, it was about in the middle (vodka, brandy, etc), and its more available...

Meh. I must be like one of the few people in my state who don't drink. But that's my horrible social life, more than an actual choice.
Plus I don't really trust myself or others around me if I/we are drunk...
