Ever played Allegiance?

hey just found this game and played a while multiplayer, anybody here tried this?
Allegiance is like a combination from freespace, xwing and realtime strategy, very cool:
you can fly as normal pilot or take the commander position, build bases, dig resources, research new tech for the pilots etc.
and the best thing, its absolute free
http://freeallegiance.org/
in my first game i shot down 8 pilots, a few miners and got killed only 3 times. guess my freespace /d3 experience pays of hehe.

I tried it, but didn't spend enough time getting to know the controls.
I did, however, rip the models I liked out, and ported them to Freespace.

Giving it a shot... The 49Mb installer is a lot for 56k though... Hopefully gameplay won't be too bad...

3000 for a gateway?! You could build one moter of a PC yourself for that cash...
I can only imagine what Gateway'd give you for that much...

One very mother of a trashy PC, yes. Gateway = quality, uncontested. Remember that configuration, setups, drivers are very important to be in working order.

While you
could make a giant paperweight, with a little research you could make a super PC. I wish I had 3 grand to spend on mine.
Gateway = quality?

Yes. Not as good as Dell or Alienware, mind you, but far better than some of the trash out there, and those pathetic eBay deals that are built with PCShits motherboards.
I think you could build a better system than Gateway, but Dell and Alienware are awesome deals.

You'd have to
see this thing to understand its awesomeness...

I suppose.
I still wish I had $3k to build up my PC. As it is, I'm in need of 300 to upgrade.

played it, enjoyed it, now rather bored of it
Its most interesting when you have a lot of free time and a good team. Most of the time, I only get one
