"Coworkers" >_>

It takes little to make me annoyed, but it takes a LOT to make me angry and go on a full-scale assult against somebody (I easily spazz when angry ^^; )

And now I'm rather annoyed. I work in my college's computer lab, and I have coworkers and "coworkers". Coworkers share the load, they're nice to me, and are real coworkers. "Coworkers", however, are a different story. One of them hates me for no particular reason, but possibly because she's a snob. I know she talks about me behind my back, which is confusing, cuz I've never DONE anything to her! We barely exchange ANY conversation at all! I get the feeling she thinks I'm a ditz, too..... disgust (which I am NOT, btw  )

My other "coworker" isn't as bad (though I don't think she likes me much either) but she likes to talk on the phone. A LOT. Or talks to her friend who comes in here. Now, socializing is just fine, but NOT when it ties up the work phone (people call here for Internet help, ect. ) or distracts her from helping students or helping ME help students.

I've put up with this for a good while.... and usually, it's not THAT bad, cuz they pull their weight... most of the time. Yesterday really, REALLY got on my nerves. You see, it's the beginning of the semester, so new students are coming in for ID cards and Log In info, and teachers are coming in for their badges. I was working with my two "coworkers", except that one of them totally disappeared and the other was busy talking to her friend ("helping her", she said) JUST as a whole flood of students/teachers came in wanting various things, and the phone started to ring too, and then the printer jammed up..... I ended up doing EVERYTHING cuz no one else would help out!

I was given a bit of wisdom this morning, that people are willing to let you do everything for them if they can. I am getting very, very annoyed, which may eventually build to an all-out spazz if things don't shape up soon, especially now that it's the school year again, so I'm trying to manage homework and textbook reading and getting enough sleep (Tis a foreign thing for me during school) AND deal with all this crap.

Is it like this for you guys at your jobs too?? (the "coworker" part of it, at least). Anybody have any words of wisdom for me? Or maybe something I can smash into itty bitty pieces? :smash: Please??

If you ever need a way to completely humiliate her, and agree that the ends always justify the means, contact me... :p

If it gets bad enough talk to Hippo (he's mastered getting back at people). As for my coworkers (Hippo don't say ANYTHING), I work at the Museum of Science in Boston Massachusetts. Most of the people I work with are retired and just volunteer their in their free time. We all do our own thing and all the one's I've met are nice.

The only place I ever worked at was a Net Caf where I volunteered. Well, it sucked. I was the only one working under 18, but I was still supposed to pull the fulll weight, and, more annoyingly, draw late shifts. I was the only one who new the difference between a computer and a typewriter which talks back, and we had 7 Compaq POS's with 400Mhz and about 64MB RAM. The network hardware was pretty compatible with normal stuff, and even somewhat Compaqtible, but still. The worst part was the budget. There was none. I wasn't given an amount, excpept "as cheap as possible". It took me 6 months to get a new HD for a server. Meanwhile, everyone always smoked, a lot, even though it was all pretty much illegal to smoke in a county paid cafe. (Youth center, it was, untill someone got a 'Tech Flash' a la Hutch.)

Some things really pissed me off. The smoking especially, the budget thing too, but the constant stream of idiocy, refusing to check up on users, allowing warez, but still telling me to keep everything legal, allowing people to install their own CD burners to use the broadband for terrible rippages, the using of cheap ass company pointed cable, and all that kind of s###. And never listening to me because I was the youngest anyway.

In the end, I quit, together with the other driving volunteer. (The only other non-smoker, and the only other guy, and the only other one who pulled his weight.)
