Sectorgame

In doing up an interactive story here on SG? Something less complex than Nodewars, but more serious than TaS. All we'd need would be a list of people who'd be willing to contribute, and a basic premise, probaly only a few lines long.

So, anyone else up for it?

i have word power as well, but my intelligence is limited, and this kind of thing is too hard for me, so im probably going to keep my distance...

Sure, no problem. Could be fun.

Well that's enough for me. If It gets active, maybe more people will join in. Anybody want to submit any ideas for the basic idea? I'm thinking something very simple, one, maybe two lines to get the first few story posts going, with no indication of how the story's going to pan out. Leave that up to the writers.

(Oh, and just to clarify, this was meant as an FS fanfic - so far all I've said is story)

"This is Alpha 1, Alpha Wing is ready to depart." Commander Ballard checked his indicators and brought the Myrmidon space superiority fighter into trim, his wingmen falling into formation.

"Delta Wing standing by," the soft, feminine voice of a translator answered. Ballard glanced at the bombers. Sekhmets, Vasudan heavy bombers, loaded for bear and armed to give someone one hell of a sour stomach. This was going to be a very nasty run, and the pilots had raised some (understandable) objections to going in against the target in Medusa or Ursa bombers.

I think the aim is less of a FanFic type thing, more of a war... Like, you don't tell the story of a person, you tell the story of a fleet, and its engagements... I think... How much like NW is this supposed to be?

No - it's a story. As I said, more simplistic than nodewars. We could, however, have each contributor controlling separate characters ala nodewars.

For example, Moonsword might have Commander Ballard, and therefore he'd be the one who writes the fighter combat aspects, and also the fighting man's view of whatever action turns up.

Someone else might have the captain of the destroyer Ballard is stationed on - he liases with Command, decides large scale tactics and the deployment of the destroyer, and through his eyes we see the combat from the POV of the officers.

Other people would control other characters. perhaps bridge officers, or crew members/captains of vessels in the Destroyers support fleet. How's that sound?

Moonsword: It might be an idea to just confirm characters first. If you're happy with Ballard, then maybe you should write the introduction (Wherever the fighter battle leads) and then have whoever gets the Admiral to pick it up after that.

Okay... this will probably be done tomorrow night (my time) since I'm moving into college tomorrow and I'm packing today.
