Makes me laugh how he's already changed his avatar to a swedish badge

What is even funnier is that if (or when) we finally lose, I can still laugh as his team didn't qualify

I'm a Rangers and Scotland fan. I can assure you there is nothing you could say I've not heard before
also, this is clearly working

My avatar is my favorite ship! It's really slow w/o an AB cooler, but I like the firepower, and plasma...

No one objects to England doing fairly well. The problem is, while England are in the running you can't turn on a game without hearing something about the England squad or Wayne f#####g Rooney. If, however they are knocked out, all TV coverage of the cup dries up and we miss all the decent games; all enthusiasm for the game vanishes and we're subjected to months of the England Cricket team playing some backwater shithole in the far east.
Everyone should take the tartan army approach: So what we didn't qualify - we still get to watch some top notch footie with a pint on an almost daily basis.

Well then. The correct attitude is to get BBC scotland to transmit alternative commentary and tell ITV that you're going to listen to commentary off of the radio with the sound off until they stop bringing England up every 5 minutes.
Aldo's tactics on the other hand simply make us want to rub your nose in the fact that Scotland didn't qualify even more. Which basically means increased commentary on England not a reduction.
On top of which this constant speculation about England pisses off a lot of the England fans too. Take ITV's non-existant half-time coverage of the Angola Vs Mexico match as an example of that.

Frankly it's just unnecessary. There just isn't any need for it.
If two sides are playing, you support the side who is part of your own nation. I'm sure if Scotland were playing Sweden I would support Scotland. If you don't want to be supportive, go vote for the SNP.

I supported SNP from 6th year of High School until second year of uni. I used to be a card carrying member, but my loyalty was nothing to do with football like so many of my peers and more to do with oil and tax. Unfortunately the SNP has become a joke in terms of real politics, so they are lost to the ages now.
As I said, I would like England to go far but the entire attitude of the press is so over-bearing it gets annoying.
And as for aldos behaviour - its called friendly rivalry/winding people up/taking the mickey.

England aren't part my own nation, though. That was sort of the whole point. If they were, I wouldn't mind it. But as is, it's about the same as bringing up, say, France or Germany every 5 minutes.
Frankly, I'm delighted this is working. I assumed people would just go 'tsch' and shake their heads or something, especially given that it was in direct response to someone elses English-badge avatar, and I was even getting bored enough to change it back, but now........

To be honest I am and always do go 'tsch', I'm just making a general statement about how stupid it all is and how silly the people who are doing it really are.
The subject of patriotism strikes nerves with me

Everywhere I look I see how it is 'wrong' to be proud to be English.

What's wrong is that people only show an interest when there's football involved, or whichever other sport is currently popular, like with the cricket last year, while the rest of the year nobody shows the slightest bit of interest.
That and all these car and house flags with bloody JJB or Umbro logos on them, or "ENGLAND" written across the middle. Firstly because it's blatant commercialisation of an ancient national symbol, and secondly because you'd have to be a complete moron to not recognise the flag without it having the name of the country on it.
That said, I'm too much of a pinko to have any time for patriotism.

Thing is though that the only people you're pissing off are people on Sectorgame who
a) Have nothing to do with this continual mentioning of England
b) Are often as pissed off about it
If you want to fight the good fight I'd suggest that you should go do it somewhere that it matters rather than taking it out bystanders who happen to be English.

Or, you could ignore it.
