It might be me, and I was being a little fecitious, but my dad has had to put 3 clutches in this truck we inherited because all it does get used for is city driving. Also, it's geared funny somehow, it's very, almost abnormally hard to get it to go faster than 55 mph.

I don't know anyone who's ever had to replace a clutch, let alone in as little as 10k miles.

EDIT; oh, and manuals are fun.

How long do you lot usually keep you're autos before buying new ones though. The truck I'm talkiing about has almost 250,000 miles on it.

Um... less than that (for one thing - much smaller country => less to travel); my brothers car is 39k over about 4 years.

250k is pretty nuts.......

My car is a 97 with 67k miles. I'd say I'll keep it till it dies, but that's not for a while, since Honda motors can last into the 300,000 mile range easy.

Well, consider this:

This truck pulled a 4500 lbs trailer fromnothern Michigan(Pellston) to southern Texas(Brownsville) twice a year for over a decade and all the minor driving associated with that.

Then we literally inherited after my grandfather passed away several years ago.

That might do it, yeah...

I've got around 39k miles on my Honda in the last few years ('01, I believe).
