I bought a new notebook recently. I just call it my 'toy' most of the time because a high-tech toy but I do have a name for it

Aha! No, wait, can't think of any childish innuendo. Bugger. Now how will I amuse myself?
I got a T43 (or something; Thinkpad laptop anyways) when I started work on Monday. I sit at a desk with a (my own) Solaris box, a Windows 2000 desktop and a laptop, and all I do is read books on networking. ho-hum.

Well, I bought a hp (dv5030us) notebook with an AMD Turion 64 ML-37 processor. Funny that I am given a pretty powerful desktop at school (Pentium 4, XP pro & 2G RAM) and I only use it for emailing, surfing and posting on SG and HLP

Oh, forget to mention I am also given a pretty big subwoofer at school too

Yeah, you'll have to study and finish school before people are willing to give you fun stuff

I don't thinkso.
I've already finished school 3 years ago. Then did a 2year diploma. I don't like the prospect of another 3years just to get a damned degree. =/
*rants on some more*

Oh yeah, how many years of school do you guys have? Isn't it something like what we have here, from K-12 and then 4 years of college? Well, if you choose to go on and pursuit an advanced degree, it will take another 2-6 years (eg. 2 years for MBA, 4 years for Med School, 5 years for a phD program).

First we have primary school Grade 1-7.
Then High School, grade 8-12.
So 12years of standard education.
Then its up to the individual, either get a job, or do further study.
Some people go straight into uni and do a 3 or 4 year Bachelor course to get a degree (depending on the field).
Othertimes, people do a TAFE course or some such to get Cert qualifications or a diploma (step down from a degree) which is usually 2 years.
I did a 2year diploma, had a 6month break, then went to uni into a Bachelor course (3yrs). I'm nearing the end of my second semester or 1st year at uni. Thus been studying tertiary for nearly 3 years now. I already have diploma level qualifications and really only went into the uni course because it seemed the sensible thing to do.
I think I'm more tired at life overall than just study. A mini pre-emptive mid life crisis if you will... =/

Hmmm, so what are you going to do if you quit school? Apart from looking for a job

I don't think I'd have swapped uni for anything else, to be honest. Still miss it.
Sniff.

Same as everyone else I guess. Live a life of paying off debt to the government, maybe raise a family, retire and die. Then become dust just like everyone before us. =/
But yeah, I'll prob stick with uni, but I'm still gonna b**ch about it.
