Most alcoholic drinks need alcohol as a solvent for the contained substances, which is why without alcohol the taste would be gone.

If i want to get drunk, I'll just consume an excess of sugar and skip medication. I get the whole deal + hangover the next day without the problem that comes with alcohol on ye breath :P
You diabetic? I can honestly say I've never found hyperglycemia anything like being drunk.

rofl at that smily. :p

I went through a period of spirits drinking. Burbon (Wild Turkey > *) and Bundy Rum.

Nowadays I just like a cold beer on a warm day. :)

Though I still don't mind the odd Rumbo, Burbon or Whiskey. :)

Yup. My system's screwed up like that - really never know why...just become something similar to a drunk, wild animal whenever im 'high' on sugar, as it were.

But then, there are a lot of things screwed up with my physically and mentally, so I wouldn't tag it specifically on that...

I react strongly to sugar  I don't need alcohol.
