Both, if the latter doesn't end soon. After all, Commies are a dying breed in this country.

If you've ever learned anything about communism, the theory itself is completely unrealistic and cannot possibly work. Something about having a supply of raw materials with no way to obtain them. :P As for the dumbed-down form of communism prevalent through much of the last century, I wouldn't exactly call it a rolling success. The entire system is flawed in its concept.

You know that. I know that. People looking for something, anything, that's better than their current existence don't want to believe that it's true.

The Australian Aboriginals had a distilled form of communism working for tens of thousands of years (Communal ownership and suchlike).

Maybe

But that was likely the economic system that they developed originally. It wasn't imposed on them by Elitist, over-intellecualized men who wanted to use it to control the masses.

Black Wolf, that's a different culture with a very different economic system.

Agreed - but saying communism absolutely can not work is wrong, as that shows.

It doesn't work in the context of U.S. society and culture and, as previously implemented, doesn't work in the current international economic system. It might work if implemented well, but it would be difficult.
