From what I've seen of Derek Smart in HLP, if he HAD managed to acquire the rights to FS and was coding it to any degree right now, he'd have already been in HLP gloating about it and threatenning Kazan again about Ferrium.

The creator of the not highly rated Battlecruiser Millennium series of "games" On top of not actually being as good as he believes he is he has the habit of flaming anyone who dares to disagree with is massive ego or who dares to ask for tech support on his games without grovelling suitably about how it must be their fault and not the games.WeatherOp wrote:Who is Derek Smart?

im all for any FS3. if its an insult, ill rant in the rants section. if it sucks, i wont play it. it it ROXORZ, i will play it. over and over. it beats halo >.<
fs2p: derek smart is some wierdo, i dont know him, i havnt read any of his posts, so i wont make an partial remarks, but from waht i hear hes a total jerk who will indeed flame people for not grovelling. also, its in youre own interest to avoid open conversations about FS3. you WILL get flamed, you may get banned eventually. its a dangerous topic, so continue at your own risk, but im behind ya on it

Grim, for not groveling and a lot of other things. He's also lied about having a Ph.D. At least once, someone jokingly made a comment about him in a forum he did normally browse and the guy showed up and started flaming people.
He's also threatened HLP with being shut down over intellectual property violations once he buys the rights.

I don't want an FS3, if the mystery of the Shivans was solved all the communities would disband and I would have no forums to go to.

Naaa, it wouldn't. We know that Darth Vader dies in the last Star Wars, but people still love it. Someone would come up with something else and the community would live on.
