According to KoToR, the Sith were a primitive native species on Korriban. The Dark Jedi landed there, became rulers and over time the 2 sort of interbred and whatnot....anyways, the Sith species became extinct over time, but Dark Jedi are still referred to as Sith because of the historical connection.

Urgh, no. Read up on your Star Wars history folks. The Sith were a race of scary lookin' mofos (in the 5000 years before the Battle of Yavin period) The Jedi discovered them, and found them to be naturally adept in the Dakr Side of the Force. Some Jedi sucuumbed to the Dark Side and tried to defeat their Jedi mastered, but got effec in the A and sent far away, out of the Old Republic. They ran back to the Sith Homeworld and mingled for a millenia and became one race.
IIRC, the Great Hyperspace War happened when s### went down between the Sith and the Republic, and the Sith under Naga Sadow invaded. The eventually lost, but another Sith (Freedon Nadd) turned Exar Kun to the dark side, and you all know where that went.
Well, maybe not, but whatever.

Wasn't Korriban where those creatures that could negate the force evolved as well? I can't remember the name of the things, but there were creatures which negated force power, they were being used in one of Timothy Zahn's books to grow clones at a vastly accelerated rate?
Might have been some kind of natural resistance to the Sith?

I've got a question. Obi-Wan says to Darth Vader, "If you strike me down, I will become more powerful than you can possibly imagine." Does that happen with all Jedi, or just the martyred ones? Does it happen with Yoda?
And if Jedi become überpowerful when they die, do Sith also become überpowerful? So what happened to Palpatine when Vader killed him?

IIRC in the books Palapatine just drifts about aimlessly until he can find a blank clone for a new body....
um, I think that the Dark side is basically a short term thing; i.e. they're not 'at one' with the force, so they can't merge back into it when they die.

- Just for the record, Korriban has nothing to do with the Sith race AFAIK, only the Sith Lords who used the planet as a fortress long ago, died off, then was later populated by Dark Jedi / new students of the Sith, as seen in KOTOR.
- Ysalamiri
- Well, by Obi's quote, I assume he meant that they become Ghosties. I have no way of knowing for sure as it's not been in the movies or book sas far as I know, but I'd guess you'd have to have a certain connection with the force, good or bad (Dark Jedi spirits exist... Palpatine, a dude in KOTOR, Exar Kun, Naga Sadow, etc.) hence why younger, inexperienced Jedi / Sith just seem to die.
- Palpatine's spirit lived on, but he didn't have the strength to escape Endor and make it back to Byss for some reason IIRC. His spirit was only destroyed (In Dark Empire II) IIRC after it was crushed in his own force storm.

Orginal siths homeworld is somewhere in outer-rim where Sith Empire is, at least in kotor time-line
