On the second image it kinda looks like a Shivanised Triton. You might wan to rethink those wings on the side. Thicken them so they look more like they're part of the main hull, and also add some bulk to the engine section. If you could post a profile pic that'd be good.

Later!

karajorma, I have a question. In truespace how do you get the light to appear inside the turret?

You have to put it inside of the turret, it won't automagically appear there. It's best to go into side and top views to help move it into position.

Yea I know I just figured that out. I have now added all turrets and about ready to skin.

Here is the Description:The SC Hydra is the newest cruiser we have seen from the Shivans. We belive that this is a Strike Cruiser, because of its Front firing Beam cannons and because of its fast speed of 30ms. And we belive it is a cross between the Cain and Rakshasa. It is a huge danger for Transports therefor it must be destroyed quickly,But less of a danger to anything larger than Cruiser Class.

And here is a site I found. It tell the Monsters and gods of folklore in case anyone needs some names.Very good site.

People seriously underestimate how much work creating a huge ship requires.

Stick with the cruisers WeatherOp.

It's sort of a dilemma, since FS2 was all about big ships, and getting bigger, I believe the idea Volition had for FS3 involved planet-sized ships.

I myself prefer flying against smaller ships, I hate having the mosquito's point of view, but larger ships are a part of the Freespace universe :)

V wanted planet sized ships?!

Shame on them

hmm.... im sorry to say that i dont like the model, although the idea is pretty good (and that mission surprise is.... wow....) but the model is too stereotypical of shivans. i dont pretend to be a shivan-ship-expert, but if you want, i can try to work out a realistic shivan-ish ship with ya on some IM program... bah, im getting ahead of myself though. VA is the real shivan-super-guy :)

BTW, use the sweep tool EXSESSIVLY in shivan ships. it helps tons. :)

Yeah, like said above, making a large ship takes too much time and I would go crazy. If anyone wants the model they can have it. And if anyone wants my campaign idea they can have it too. I would like too see someone who could do a much better job than me take the Idea. :D .And about my cruiser I have not did much work on it in the past few hours, but will finish it someday. 8) And Grimloq I have saw that big ol ship you have made and it looks good you could make a good shivan model if you wanted too.

Not really... I don't know how long it wil be before I even think about making a campaign. And can you tell me an easy way to skin a model in truespace?

Skinning is probably the hardest part of modelling. You'll find that the majority of people in the community who can model either can't skin their models or are only able to do a poor job at it (myself included).

IP Andrew's Ship Creation Guide (linked to in my FAQ) is probably a good place to learn how to use LithUnwrap for skinning. The guide includes a link to the last free version of LithUnwrap.

If you want to stick to TS you've basically limited yourself to capships and tiled textures (fighters should really unwrapped). Sticking those on a ship is relatively easy.

skinning is a 10 minute job tops. Drawing a texzture for the skin, that's hard.

I would just like to find out how to skin in truespace, since I don't do many fighters. Hey, Roanoke can you tell me how to skin.... I gonna just use their textures instead of making my own.
