It's obvious most of you have never been on a farm for any length of time.
If we didn't have a few "feral" cats around here, there be field mice everywhere and I mean everywhere. And there not feral, ferals don't like people at all and spit and hiss at you. Most of the cats that come around are like Barn Cats.
A Barn Cat is a common domestic that gets raised by it's mother away from regular human contact in a barn(duh!), the resulting animal is somewhat wild, usually not letting a human get within 5 feet of them, but they get most of their food from humans, usually in the form of table scraps. Their primary purpose is to keep the rodent population down in grain storage facilities.

Actually, my mother adopted one of those (from under our porch, really)... she's a pretty nice cat.
Her mother seems to hate me, for some reason, though.
And no, I haven't.

Speaking of feral cats....
Our high school was the Bobcats, so one night we were kinda drunk n went outside of town and tried to catch one, you know for a mascot. Let me tell you do NOT mess with those things. It was one bad b**ch. When the dust settled two of my teamates had to be taken to the hospital and i had to shoot the cat as it was jumping to attack another of my friends....very scary animal

I'm stuck, I own both, but, although I could live without a pet dog, I'm not certain how well I'd do without a cat, I've always had at least one around the house since I was a kid.

There's a reason they chose that as the mascot, you know... that's probably why, Ben.

Umm, Bobcats are very nasty, hence their use as a mascot. Be very glad, however, that you're mascot was not a cougar or somesuch you'd most likely have buried one of your friends.

Hopefully they wouldn't have been able to *find* a cougar... Ben, why the hell did you guys think that was a good idea, even drunk?

Critical lowering of IQ. One of many reasons I don't partake of adult beverages.

Hey, Ben, I've got an idea for you: write it up and send it in to the Darwin Awards.

You dont understand how smashed we were though. To be honest I was suprised we found one theyre pretty rare here. Although i must say my shot on the cat was incredible right through the side of the head

It was Lady Tymora, she favors small children and young fools so blitzed out of their minds they can't tell going hunting for a predatory animal is a dangerous proposition, even when you're sober.
