I was under the impression that "knackered" meant something else entirely...

Double postage of DOOOM!

I can crash HLP on command it seems. All I have to do is write a long reply in the "the usefulness of new ship classes???" thread and try to post it.

Poof, HLP goes down for a little bit.

Goob, I hate to suggest this, but you all might want to try disabling the webring. All the error messages I've gotten in the last week from HLP seem to be regarding it, and the forum interface itself seems to be holding on.

I told styxx about that, and he uploaded a page without the webring. The problem persisted.

Which is strange, because even the old archived forums respond with their old response once they finally time out. I really suspect it's something systemic, which is why I suggested taking the webring offline entirely. One less piece of the puzzle. Though in reality it is probably more of a database issue of some kind (did someone schedule daily backups for around 10:00 PM local time or something?) but that does conflict with the errors that we're seeing.

It makes sense  but the software is just a little too slow, because the replies seem to get through.

Just out of curiosity, is HLP down again? I get an error saying the connection was refused.

This was at 7:00 PM.
