Expanding it to include D3 files is not a bad idea - But .. It wouldn't make much sense.

The new layout looks nice 
I do have one suggestion,
try using CSS instead of images for the navigation. The site would load faster, decrease bandwidth usage and you could also add a hover color. If you need any help give me a buzz
