Heh, that'd be nice. You're welcome to come over to my house, if you like.

Any tips on how to get good at playing that thing? I know the B major chord....and that's it...

Any tips? Umm... ok!
First, don't jump in at the deep end unless your a really commited guy, start with easy songs to learn. So many people loose interest by starting the wrong way.

Second, start by playing songs that you love and are easy, this will make you want to learn it more and then you get more committed and better.

Third, practise. Practise for hours. Or, you could just practise for minutes, but on a regular basis. But as they say, practise makes perfect.

Fourth, chords. Unless what you want to learn chords for a certain song, leave chords alone until you know your frettboard a bit better.

Bah practice sucks! :P

Never was a committed guy at optional things unless I actually like doing them.

Scales and simple songs. And learn how to tune.

As someone pointed out, it's something you have to want to do... so have some fun!

Scales are the building blocks that melodies are built from. Play a scale till you can play it without looking at the fretboard... then change it up, and soon you will have your own tune!

That name starts with an 'E': Epiphone They are well known and respected for 'beginner' guitars.

Or you could just play your favourite song that uses one of these scales.

True, but that is a much more advanced concept. Depending on what your favorite song is, of course...;)

It is by now painfully obvious that you are a guitar player yourself. So what axe do you boast?

I play harmonica and hand drums, (sorry, no, not at the same time) but I'm 'between' guitars at the moment. I'm planning an electric standup bass, sorta like the Ned Stienbeger NS1. I'd also like to make a Chapman Stick but I don't know anyone who has one.
