In all seriouslness, if you're willing to go back as far as the late 80's (never go early 80s, the chassis were baws) you could actually get one for unnder 6000.

For that kind of money... (assuming a 2:1 GBP:USD ratio) I'd say screw it, and look for a 93 Supra Turbo... Or RX-7...

If you're thinking eighties I'd go for a 911 ClubSport. The Turbo is for 80s yuppies. The Targa more so.
