I think I need to know your PC's specs to help with that.

Can you specify what specifications you require?

Memory, graphics card, sound card etc. Just the really important ones.

On this topic I recently made a pretty grim discovery. In random spasms of ignorance I decided to play the main campaign with open and I found that all the anomalies had vanished and there were no problems at all. EVERYTHING was working well and as it should. It seems that the only problem is with player made missions (which is very annoying). Also, It could be the fact that these missions were made with fred and not fred open and by the way, is there anything that I need to do concerning the tbl. files? because they are replacing fan-made ships with a Ulessys and additions to weapons.tbl don't do anything. Do you think that If I strung my missions into a campaign instesd of loading them from the techroom, it would fix the anomalies?

By the way, the anomalies have (for unknown reasons) dissapeared fully. Instead, I nnow recieve a long list of errors when starting FS2:SCP or FRED2:SCP, however these are mainly an annoyance except for two main problems. Fred2 open does no show a cursor when it loads up, and when I play a campaign on fs2 open (that I have created) no ships are available except for the ones that I have chosen the players to start as and their weapons have been removed and none are shown in the menubar.

The list of errors in FRED is more serious than you think. They really do need to be fixed. The disappearing mouse cursor problem will be fixed in RC 8 though.

As for the second problem that's caused by the campaign not having set the initially available ships properly. Open the campaign in FRED's campaign editor and check which ships are avaialble initially from the ships and weapons loadout menu options.

Remember that although you may have set a loadout for the missions you also need to set it for the campaign.

The list of errors is present in the process of starting up fs2_open.exe as well. (Under further examination) I also found out that all of the errors seem to point to ships, tbl as well...

And how serious are these errors? And I cannot fix the campaign problem in FRED2open because of the cursor dissapearing and when I try to do thius in FRED 2, it results in a message explaining that it has crashed, or it just fails to load up and lags up the computer.

Let me put it this way. IF you put up a final version of your campaign that displays error messages on startup no one will ever play it much beyond that.

Fixing table errors is something of an art and although I can do it I'm not as good as the people over on HLP at it as I'm a coder not a table expert.

Then should I cry out REEEEAAARRRRGGHHHH!!!! and be really depressed and annoyed, or should I ask some of the HLP people? (some of them scare me though)

Or should I post a description of the error so you can see if the problem has been encountered elsewhere and you have misunderstood me recently?

I would suggest posting on HLP (maybe not today as it's International Talk Like a Pirate Day and the forums are a little odd at the moment).

If you don't want to post on HLP you can try here but unless someone is willing to help it's probably beyond me without having the tables in front of me.

That's the original HotU version. I'd stay away from that one if I were you. It's more trouble than its worth now that there are better ways to get hold of the game.

I know that I would still be asking a lot to do this Karajorma, but stated in an earlier post that this problem would be beyond you unless you had the tables in front of you, so I was wondering please could you consider using your infinate knowlage and wisdom to examine the tables and errors for me if I sent them to you for examination? PLEASE! I AM DESPERATE NOW!

I EXAMINED ALL GOOD SOURCES OF INFORMATION FOR THE SCP PROJECT TO SEE IF I HAD INSTALLED IT WRONG, WERE I FOUND INSTRUCTIONS NOT TO INSTALL ANY MODS IN DATA. I FOLLOWED THE GUIDES' INSTRUCTIONS AND INSTALLED A NEW FOLDER FOR MODELS IN THE FS2 DIRECTORY BUT THE MULTIMOD 'MOD.INI' THING DOES NOT WORK! I CAN ONLY HAVE EITHER MEDIAVPS WORKING OR THIS MOD FOLDER, BUT WHEN I CHOOSE THE MODS FOLDER I STILL RECIEVE THESE (APPARENT) TABLE ERRORS! AAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHH! PLEASE! HELP ME KARAJORMA!
