Who would like a mission where you have to board on enemy ships?
It would also be cool when warping home to go through the portal and see your mothership and make a correct landing inside. Then get out of your battleship and go to the weaponary, service etc. to prepare your ship for the next mission and establish routes for your teams to achieve the mission.
Tell me if this is stupid, ok?

How about a strategy Freespace and not a simulator?
I mean to control and build the ships like in Starcraft, Empire Earth, Red Alert etc., but controlling them on many maps. The first one should be for the Universe (not all the Universe, don't worry), then several galaxies, solar sistems and finally, planets. And to move the ships where ever you want in the Universe, but not instant (not even with the warp gate-why?-the light has a speed limit, too).

The problem with trying to expand what you can do by adding strategy elements and boarding ships etc is that you risk trying to do to much and end up doing it all badly.
Have you ever player BC 3000?

I've been thinking of that, too. But it was only an idea to try.
And never heard of BC 3000. What is it?

Basically it's a game by Derek Smart which tried to do everything and ended up not being very good at any of them. You can fly ships and board them to play an FPS and manage resources and everything.
Only problem is that it's just not very good. It tried to do too much. Far better to concentrate on what you are good at than tack on things which aren't as good and drag down the rest of the game with it.

But what is going so bad at it? Why?
