Not really. I rarely drink. It's actually been about 2 years since I have last, and even then, it was one

Just doesn't appeal to me... I can either be bored, or be intoxicated and bored... so I'll go with the lessened chance of nausea

No, I was too timid. I've always been afraid of hurting people smaller than me(they're so fragile), because with the exception of a sprained ankle in the 10th grade, I have proven to be extremly resilient to skeletal damage and various forms of infection since my immune system had to fight off strep for almost 10 weeks straight and I try to avoid sharp objects.

I feel like sometimes that I'm built for combat, but I have a hard time putting down a mortally wounded and suffering animal.

Black Wolf, you should hear the sentences that ResLife (folks in charge of the dorms) have passed down to us. No underage drinking.

If you're caught, they send you to rehab and you are on probation. If you do so much as a noise violation, you can be tossed out of the building right there, no questions asked.

And if your roommate is underage, don't keep alcohol in plain sight in the room, either...

And the system you guys have seems hugely restrictive. Here, the only thing anyone can be punished for (in this specific area of the law anyway) is selling Alcohol to a minor (Or possibly supplying it free - I'm not sure). The theory is that if you can't buy it, you can't drink it. In practice, it lets everyone drink, but you're kind of forced to gradually increase consumption rather than go all out at the start because it's harder to get the younger you are. A very good system IMO.

IMO, not being able to drink until you're 21 really is quite a stupid law. My parents were letting me drink (limited) alcohol with meals as early as the age of 13, if only to build up a tolerence to it. A while back in my area, a boy on his 18th birthday who'd never drunk before was dragged round innumerable bars and pubs, getting completely off his face in the process.

He was fished face down out of the river in the morning.

So yeah, i would argue that by banning alcohol until 21, they're perhaps making the problem of inebriated layabouts much worse...

So who got charged with his murder?

If his friends knew that he hadn't had a single drink before they took him out, and they "forced" him to drink, at least one of them should have been charged with something serious.

Agreed, it's pretty much the same here. Even though we have people here going on a binge for their first time drinking (I think I told the story to a few of you guys), most people do take it slowly.

He wasn't forced in the literal sense of the word, he was simply trying to be more socially acceptable by conforming, something that most people in this world are guilty of.

I missed out part of the story actually. When they tried to get into the last club of the night, he was refused entry for being too drunk. His friends left him to go inside without even calling a cab. Youreright then, they are guilty of, atleast, manslaughter I should think...

That's not manslaughter, at least not under American law as I understand it. It's also not murder unless they find evidence he was deliberately killed, AFAIK.

Criminal negligence sounds like a good answer, though, might even stand up in court.
