I played in a band with 3 gay members, 2 of whom were a couple. I often got assumed as gay because of it.

What I don't get is it's okay to be persecuted for being christian or jewish or a white male. But it isn't okay to persecute Islam, homosexuals, sluts who have casual sex with whoever happens to be handy(sluts can be either male or female), ect.?

Somebody care to explain that to me? In simple terms please, I am after all a poor dumb WASP with no understanding of things like that. :sarcasm:

The fact of the matter is that people are persecuted for being Islamic, for being Homosexual or for being 'loose'.

In fact, if you have a difference, which we all do, you can garauntee that someone will try to persecute you for it

Meh. Live with it. Gay has become another word to mean bad. I use it, most of my friends use it, but in a few more years it'll have been replaced with something else. That's the nature of the english language.

True, but if you act anti-homosexual you will get a lawsuit on your ass. I want to know why the Gay Segment of the population feels that it is okay to force their chosen lifestyle on the rest of us via litigation. They represent less than 1% of the population and you can't swing a cat these days without hitting something that is pandering to Gays.

Example:

Let's say a gay guy makes a pass at me, he's liable to get a shove at least, more likely a knuckle sandwich. I would cop to committing assault, I did hit him. But I would sooner rot in prison than cop to a Hate Crime. Being Gay does not automatically make you a racial minority.

I could beat the crap out of my brother in a fit of rage(which I am prone to now and again, "red out", missing time(secs), the whole nine yards) and that would be a hate crime too.

You can't use people state of mind as an offensive tool in a situation like that, only defensive. It's too subjective otherwise. For the Law to be equal, the Law must be equal. You can't punish a crime one way for one person because they fit into a certain racial or political group and then punish someone else guilty of the same crime a different way because they are in a different group.

You must not be different or dissimilar, you must like the same things (e.g. music, clothing) and you must have the same opinions as everyone else. Otherwise your an outsider.

Meh. I'd rather stay an outsider.

I'd rather people just accept others for who they are. At least EJ has come out of the closet, although he did lose record sales when he did.
