And we'd be needing a bunch of extra mods/admins, and you'd be getting mountains of extra traffic. Meaning you might have to open a "help me pay for bandwidth" pay-pal acount.
True, but soon there will be no more VW or VWBB
VW staff are gonna shutdown VW
so I'am there until end

Do tell.
To be frank, the only thing I really hope gets saved off that site is Tech FreeSpace, and that can be recreated easily enough if we get off our butts and help the FSDoc people.
Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to log in, or I'd write at least one page for them.

This, I think, is why Inquisitor is urging so hard for the SCP guys to get a stable 'release' version of the SCP out. The community needs a bit of new blood, and people learning how to mod freespace etc, which is easy in theory, but, as we all know, something completely different in practice.
The only way that is going to happen is if there is a stable build of the SCP to pimp in magazines, Gamespy etc.

F2S had its own tech database similar to tech freespace, but ofcourse, I never bothered to restore it last time around.

I'm not sure we're ever going to get a stable release of the SCP. And even if we do, I doubt it'll work correctly on my system.
A lot of people don't have monstrous video cards that can handle HTL, and that's gonna hit us hard. The -nohtl flag isn't, judging from my experience, the most stable flag in the world. And it's also on the back burner for the most part.
I don't have enough problems with it, knowing it's an unstable flag when I use it, to bother them enough to make them fix it.

Ok, I'll respond to this before reading the rest.
What part don't you get?
You need to use a WikiWord, meaning a word with AT LEAST 2 caps, one of them not at the end. MoonSword, MrMoonsword, SirMoonsword are all valid. Moonsword, MoonsworD are not. You can choose a password at the first login. From then, on, that's your pass. You can choose not to use a password, then all you need to login is your name, and anyone can use your account. If you need any other help, post on HLP or PM me there.

Look, the noHTL tree is supposed to be adandond sooner or later. Please, please report all your problems with htl to the SCP team, calmly, and they'll try to fix it.
And no offence, but a Radeon 7000 is not a monstrous card. That's all you need, and it is about 40 euro's or less.
