You have a higher opinion of their technical skills than I do. They probably won't fix it until tomorrow anyway, since it's a weekend. Their staff is probably all at home, which is why the admins from HLP haven't heard anything from them. If they have heard anything, they haven't posted it that I've seen.

It sounds plausible, at least.

More on the school thing:

I am currently in the 4th year, out of 6, of VWO, or Gymnasium. This is the highest secondary education in this country (Netherlands). To get the diploma, one must do 3 years of general education, containing all the subjects, one year (the 4th) of semi specialised, picking from 2 'streams', and then the last two pickiing from a total of 4 'profiles'. You can pick about 3 of extra subjects, but more then 2 is regarded as rare. The profiles contain a lot of odd stuff. Passing year 4 requires passing grades in everything you drop that year, since anything you drop in year 4 will count on your diploma as just another subject. To get a diploma, one must have passing grades everywhere, except for one 4 and one 5 (out of 10) outside the 'profile' subjects. I will drop French and German this year, so I need at least a 4 and a 5 for them, but then I cannot make one mistake in the next 2 years, or I won't graduate. Also, to go to next year, I can only have one more grade below the exam minimum. So another 5 is ok, but another 4, or 2 fives and I have to repeat the year.

The regulations are complicated, moronic and completely out of touch with reality, and the goverment wants another reform. This stuff was introduced 5 years ago, and even back then, everyone said that this was a bad idea. But, as always, the goverment pushed through, and now I'm stuck. To add to the fun, I was ill for 9 full weeks of no school, and another 4 or 5 (and counting) of going 1/3 to 2/3 of the time. Now, I am averaging this:

Dutch 3,6
English 8,6
Maths 5,8
Chem 5,9
Physics 6,05
Sciences 8,083333333
Latin 3,9

French 3,825
German 4,275
Biology 7,3
Sociology 8,15
History 8,45

Some of these are out of date, Dutch for example, is a passing grade by now, and I know that Latin isn't this bad either (it's about 0,2 point better  ). But still, as you can see from the embolded items, I'm in a pretty bad position. I still have 60% of my grade to get in the next 2 weeks for French and German, and about 2o or 30% for Latin, but still......

It's been going on since wednesday or something, they ought to know about it by now.

Somebody mentioned PHP was still working. Maybe, to prevent such failures in the future, HLP should switch to a PHP based forum such as PHP BB.

I realize that it probably wouldn't work the same and GS would have kittens but are there any inherent problems with using a php based forum over an SQL based one?

PHPBB uses a MySQL database (or Postgre) the same as many others. It doesn't have a raw file storage system like some boards have options for (Ikonboard has/had one), it's all in a database.

Which would bring us straight back to where we started.

Lovely. Has anyone heard from any of the board admins about the situation?

Nope... Will contact them if it prolongs.

's matter Hunter? Don't like all the company?

I had a nasty thought though, what if GS decides to trash HLP? Where will we all go? Can Sectorgame handle the extra duties?
