Hmmm could be considered, but while I'd be in favor of integration, I think this would be redundant and confusing (like, if 2 people hold a conversation on 2 platforms).

The idea I (or better, Mobius) had was to have invites in the board description that directly lead to the respective Discord channel (I prepared a test set and pinned them in the #admin channel)

Well we have the option as it's built-in with the available extension. And it could be forum specific, so only topics from one area (like a news area) can be sent.

Not sure if I like the pre-made widget as the header color stands out like a sore thumb, but it's a start.

Ditched the pre-made one and went with a lightweight custom widget - seems to throw an error with user count at the moment, but otherwise tidier and less bloated.

Since SG Discord server can be joine freely it's OK to me to display what's going on there. I think general FreeSpace channel info is the best one to display.

i can see Hunter’s doing some work on the widget already. Online Discord users are now visible from Sectorgame forums

Speaking of Discord, as I mention before, we could have a section of the forum where each new topic (not replies) also gets posted on Discord - for example an announcements section. This could be sent to a specific category on the Discord, perhaps a new one, and would help crossover engagement. But just a thought - you guys would need to come up with what to post in the announcements

We have an announcement channel on Discord, all people with the Project Leader role have writing perms there + can mention @everyone (only in that channel), so that shouldn't be an issue. All it takes is to copypaste the forum post there and make sure everything looks as it should.
