Since when did monkeying extend from being banned from GD to banned from everything automatically?
I mean it was originally developed for GD and only GD, right? And then because of special case problems it was extended to elsewhere for those people?

3Depending on what type of naughty you've been it can be any of them.ngtm1r wrote:Since when did monkeying extend from being banned from GD to banned from everything automatically?

Monkeying was originally created to allow banned members to still contribute to hosted projects. Nothing to do with GD.

Well, it's bullcrap, but I doubt anyone will listen to me when I say that or explain why. (Though I tried anyways.)Matthew wrote:Did ggtm1r get banzo-I mean monkeyzored?

What happened? Did I miss something flame-related?
Believes in 3DPD. Loli is not a crime. A cat is fine too.

I've calmed down a bit now, and re-written this to try and get my point across.
Suffice to say, General Discussion has, in my opinon, became far too polarized. You are either on one side of a discussion or the other, and whatever side you are on, it seems to be a requirement to attack the other side as viciously and rudely as is possible. Frankly, I'm tired of it, people make blacks and whites out of a million grey-areas, the Forum may as well be called General Argument.
Basically, everyone knows you will never change a person's opinion by shouting insults at them, and yet everyone seems determined that this is the only possible approach to someone on the 'other side' of a point of view, and what I was attacked for on that particular occasion was way over the line, it involved my partners' concerns about her privacy and, in turn, my own concerns over her concerns, it wasn't a court case, it wasn't an inquisition, it was a simple opinion, and that was all, I asked for people's opinion on the idea of body scanners, not their opinion on my own opinion, and certainly not in the manner it was given, I found it insulting to both myself and to Sharon. I repeated myself on several occasions and stated that I had no problem with the technology, just with the guidelines involved in operating it, and got quite scathingly attacked for daring to have a different opinion to some other people.
As I said before, I'm tired, tired of reading it, tired of recieving it.
I have nothing further to say on the matter.

I dont think anything was deleted, but I'm not entirely sure how Flip found it offensive, a bit over aggressive perhaps.
Then again that was real soon after Battuda decided to have a flame war with me, complete with liberal uses of fallacies and word twisting, hence his comment about Flip "not needing to explain himself" or some such on the first page. That may or may not have influenced it.
EDIT: I'll also add that what we think about the issue of body scanners in general doesn't matter since they are very likely to go ahead and go through with it at some point in the future (maybe after the next foiled undergarment bombing attempt). The US is a country that by and large thinks its own primary school children are potential terrorists, why should it view anyone else any differently?
