I think I have a 19 or 21" CRT lying about in my flat, still. Did better resolution (1600x1200) than my LCD, but was just to bloody big. Shame, really, as it mean I had to dump my dual-screen setup as well.Top Gun wrote:1280x960, since I'm still rockin' the CRT.I have to dial that down to 1024x768 or even 800x600 depending on what game I'm attempting to play, though.

I'm sure it exists in some capacity, It's like how one of my monitors runs at 1279x1024.Matthew wrote:I don't think so either aldo, but some PCs have a digital audio out on them. Surprisingly, my crappy HP PC has a pretty decent sound card with digital out
Oh and BTW, 1440 x 900 (There is no such thing as 1400 x 900 guys)

Yes, for those of who use vertical space on our monitors, wide screen is stupid. And that's without considering that widescreen results in less visual area on a monitor for the same diagonal length. I'd hate to think how much I would need to search when my CRTs die, for a 4:3.

Scholastic institutions and old businesses generally have a good supply of adequate (not broken / able to hit up to 70Hz at the least) monitors. Though, they might not be willing to part with them.
As for good (mint condition / can run 1600x1200 at up to 85Hz) monitors, I've only seen one (online) in the last three years, and I didn't have $400.00 on me.
