As well as the campaign I'm working on, I'm also pursuing this little issue as well.
Now, the way I see things, some of the new mods coming soon like Wing Commander Saga will have its own 3d cockpits. I know there have been experiments on a Freespace 2 style hud. My question is, what is the progress with it? It's been a while and there hasnt really been any news on it. If there is going to be one, that would be nice.
If there isn't going to be one or there is, regardless, I was proposing that sometime, the current cockpit model in these htl fighters get a high-res facelift. I was thinking of doing like a cinematic piece as a media thing and thought the use of a new cockpit would be nice.

I used to have it in my mod, but then I realized that no matter how I set the reflectivity (unless I make it completely clear), the cockpit glass ends up reflecting my planet skyboxes. Annoying as f*ck.

If I remember correctly Nukemod included a working cockpit. The ones for Diaspora and WCS haven't actually been released yet.

Working as in the ability to put HUD elements on them though? Cos I still need to get my cockpit working, and IIRC was only held up by the inability to move most of the elements around, and RTT not working correctly.
