Single Player Discussion

Well, I've made some plans and sketched out the general idea for what I want in the Single Player version. In total, there will be six missions - The missions will *all* be progressively hard, not only because you might get killed, but because the objectives will be increasingly difficult to complete. The six missions will be individual scenarios, and while there won't be a major storyline, some will be connected to each other. If you get killed, you'll have to restart the mission. But don't worry, it won't be *that* easy to get killed. But it will be easy to fail a mission if you don't pay attention.

There will be some new models, and some new backgrounds - But most of what's already in Basewars will be reused, including the weapons. I'm thinking of having the player "start" with a predefined loadout instead of being able to pickup weapons. So for example, for a bombing mission you'll get maybe 2 cannons and a collection of heavy missiles. For escort jobs, you'll get Railguns and lighter missiles. The payloads will be increased to accomodate for the missions.

All six missions will be seperate levels, not all rolled into one as I originally intended. This is simply because there isn't enough room for all the scripting in one level. They have to be seperate. Each mission will have a music score like those from the earlier levels.
