I recently composed a song that is, shall we say, a triumph. Its battle music for a game i'm working on. I'm posting the high-quality MP3 here, i also have a looping OGG file but its lower quality.
Openlancer - Intense Battle
I'm really proud of this one, comments, critique?

If I throw out my bias (i.e. the original Freelancer soundtrack sitting around), it really does flash back to the days playing 1943 at the arcade, but it's not so dated as to be hopelessly out of place.
On the other hand, it's getting close. And I'm honestly not quite sure where the 192kbps sound quality went...by comparison the original Freelancer .wavs are 80kpbs and have seemingly higher sound quality. (For that matter, so does your own SpaceWay at 128kbps).
If it were slightly less...tinny, that would do it a great deal of good. The concept is very sound.

*shrugs* i dunno how they managed to do that, but they are professionals, so they probably have quite a few tricks up their sleeves.
As for "tinny" what do you mean?

Actually I've changed my opinion; went back and looked at the Openlancer page. It's 2D, so the music works.
As corroboration, I've been using it to replace the battle music from Star Control 2 lately. Great improvement.
