Yeah. But after that things tend to get better. I remember it being the last day my mum cried when my dad passed away earlier this year. It's hard to say your last goodbye but at least it gives you a chance to do that.Flipside wrote:The Funeral is on Friday, I think we need to get passed that, it will probs be the hardest day.

What always gets me, when someone dies, that person thinks it's wrong or shameful to smile or laugh - It couldn't be further from the truth. We all pine in our own way, and the best medication is not pills, nor therapy - But smiling. It's ok to be sad, it's ok to cry. And it's also ok to smile, laugh and enjoy the memories, remembering someone for who they were. It is the best way to honor ones passing. Sadly, it's always difficult to control your emotions.
I often find keeping busy helps, it's certainly better than turning to the bottle like some folks do..

That's the funeral out of the way, all in all, it went well, we even relaxed enough to joke about the ash-tray outside the crematorium door, and I must admit a smile when I saw that the person being buried before my Uncle was called 'W.Nodes'....
Probably the freakiest part of the day was the fact that my Uncle and I shared names, so I had to sit and watch a hearse arrive with a coffin with my name it.. That was...odd....

Thanks, it was a good send-off, his work mates turned up and everything, he was a Prison Officer, and the Vicar was recounting that about 6 months after he was diagnoed with MND, he stopped two prisoners escaping, despite having no feeling in one arm and being on light duties.... I think that summed him up pretty well
