Being sick sucks.
So I'm out last thursday having a few drinks with some mates at the Uni bar. All goes well as usual, IE perving, drinking, perving more drinking. Until I realise I'm not handling my booze like I usually do. Feeling rather more nauseated than usual for the amount I had consumed.
Anywho, I shrug it off as you do and continue as per normal. So the night is ending and we head off home. A brisk 15minute walk to the station, a quick stop in at the dunny's and we're on the train.
Now my friends all get off before me, because I live the furthest away, the last stop the train makes to be exact. An exhilerating 1hour train ride. ><
Nothing to eventful besides the usual train crazy people happens, except that I really start to feel like s###.
Finally I make it home, and find myself very pale with my usual shadowed eyes slightly droopy. So I hit the sack, and hope to sleep it off.
Next day is worse, not only do I have a thumping headache, my nose is starting to clog and flem is casually driping down my throat. Great. I've got a cold.
Well hopefully it will be gone by Monday, I think to myself. Ha!
Friday night was hell, instead of sleeping, my activities included coughing up flem, blowing my nose, and vomiting every 40minutes, after trying to keep down some water.
Finally Saturday morning I collapse in exhaustion, at last able to get some sleep.
Sunday passed not much better, but at least the vomiting was absent. Though the nausea remained.
Monday comes round and still no improvement, damn. Time to see a Doctor.
After nearly collapsing in the waiting room I finally get in. The usual check over and he diagnoses me with the flu. No s###. But at least he gave me some drugs to fix it. He says I'm the sickest person he's seen in a couple of weeks. Great.
I was a little pissed off though because I still had uni, and he tells me to stay home for at least a week. Warning me that if I attempt normal activities I could end up with pneumonia.
Sigh. So here I am coughing up flem every now and then typing emails to my lecturers to give them a heads up and beg for mercy.
Being sick sucks. I havn't been sick in a long time. I'm talking at least a year. Not including hangovers / alchohol poisoning.
Just thought I'd share my experience with you guys...
Yellow stained sinks and the scent of vomit...
