*keeps getting shafted at work*

God I hate my job. I work, and work, and work for them, yet I am paid less than our competition... They call at the worst times expecting me to conform to their every will, and after a week of working overtime, they edit the time sheets and decide to pay me for less than the hours I worked. (I have proof)

Why? What could a possibly 45 minutes worth of work add up to? They only f*ckin pay be 6.90/hr! That's nothing! I think minimum wage was just bumped higher than that in NY... :cries:

My dad's telling me that if I complain about it, they'll fire me... but I have a contract, and I'm union (like they did any good, bunch of worthless f*cks. They completely castrated us with the new contract)! Why is it me they constantly take advantage of? And why is my father telling me I have to take the passive aggressive route of turning down their phone calls, and coming in late (Which I've been doing anyway...)

I've been there for a year and a half, and the customers like me... I've been the front end manager..... I'm up on the list of the better employees, and yet they keep f*cking me over.... And I can't seem to get a job anywhere else... Unless I wanna work in the mall, and not get out until 3am every day until Jan 16, and get layed off. :doubt:

I want a real job! And a real life! *cries*

simple. Threaten them back. You *do* have an advantage here since you're on good terms with the customers. Somehow associate you = happy customers = $$ and then use it to twist their arms behind their backs.

Nothing is better than blackmail...especially EVIL blackmail!! Mwhahahaahahahaha :)

I've been at this place for a year and a half, and still make less than starting wages most other places.

I only stay because I've got health coverage through the union... (Unless that was cut last contract, too. :doubt: )

*laughs, nods, agrees with Kopax about Georgia*

There is one thing, though... our price of living is lower than it is in New York.

Raa... good luck.

And that is why they think they can treat you like s###. I come across this so many times where I work, which is a training centre for 16-18 year olds who have 'lost direction'...

There's no doubt some of them have potential, though most of them have grown up the hard way, parents are often junkies, or players, they often get no respect from them, which is why they demand so much on the street. Theres no feeling worse in the world than a parent that doesn't care what you think.

Then, after they've been through that, we send them out on placement, and they get treated as Raa is now. Low wages, poor conditions, little hope of promotion, particuarly in the private companies... The life of a trainee hairdresser, for example, is a pure living hell.

Then they wonder why kids walk out, when they're getting no respect at home, and now they feel like no-one gives a damn about them at work either, it kills the self esteem :(

And why do they get treated like this, partly because they are on a terrible wage (Training wage is £40 a week), partly because they know this is probably the kids only hope, if they walk out, the chances are no-one else will take them, and a life stacking shelves awaits them...

Ok..Rant Over :)

Consultant/freelance Java programmmer (well, at the mo), working on a 'dynamic and scaleable peer to peer architecture for mediated content distribution".

Pick a specific job you'd like to do, then pick a course.... I wish I'd done a more graphics or C++ orientated degree.
