Mostly the forum existed, as Goober said, so that when the guys are discussing a delicate bit of targetting code etc, people aren't throwing in comments and suggestions left right and centre and muddying up the waters.

I'm in the Internal Forum at HLP, since I edit the wiki from time to time but I rarely have reason to post there, nor would most of HLP.

I would like to have been able to see inside, but since I don't know code, it'd be a waste for the most part. It'd be like all the other forums I can see into, where I just lurk...

Like here during dry spells?

That's the reason I'd look... I've been meaning to learn C++ and OpenGL for ages, but when you spend 8 hours or so a day coding there's not much desire to spend the rest of the day starting from scratch with another language.

What do you do?

I know exactly what you mean Aldo. In fact since I'm a Java programmer primarily I'm in exactly the same boat as you. However my new job gives me 2 hours commuting which would otherwise be spent looking out of a train window. Looks like I've got the extra time I needed to learn C++ now
