My god...
Dear Dynamic Users-

The dynamic servers were faced with a malicious attack and had to be shut down. All passwords for the sites ran on these servers have been compromised along with user information on forums, and other login services you may have been running.

We are in the process of fixing the damage and the security flaw that was exploited. As we repair the servers, we will be bringing them back online one by one. Our estimated time of getting all the servers back online is by or before Monday if all goes smoothly. Once a server is ready to come back online, we will be providing you information on how to restore your account.

As a result of the attack, all your passwords and the passwords of your readers should be considered compromised and you should change any passwords on other servers that were similar to those on your dynamic and MySQL accounts. Also the configurations of the servers will be somewhat altered, and may cause the need for some applications to be reconfigured.

In the very near future I will be contacting the members in groups by server about the next steps that we will be taking and need you to take and information we may need from you to assist us in bringing your site back online.

We understand that all this can be frustrating to you and your site fans, and we appreciate the support and patience you have shown our support and technical staff as we have worked to locate and fix all the problems we have come across.

For all other questions or assistance with passwords on servers other than the dynamic servers, please email [email protected].

Thank you,

Dunnow... They'll have backups though, we'll just have to change all our passwords... Though, according to an0n, you can't pull passwords from a vb interface, without already knowing the type of password and what it consists of...

It'll be stored locally (on your PC) in cookies most likely.

The passwords comment most likely refered to FTP passwords and the like rather than forum passwords most likely. There are certain types of BB where even the admins don't know your password. I don't know if VB is one of them though.

I for one, wouldn't mine having to start over. I've not done anything important anyway, posting wise, and all of the work I did for any projects are saved in the FTP, which never went down.

Although there were quite a few attachments inthe TVWP internal... :(

To be honest, I'm just going to let them cancel my FTP access anyways, but I'd miss me hefty post count :D

Roanoke, there is a little check box that says "remember me" or somesuch, put a check in it for crying out loud. I've only had to log in once since HLP went down.
