Ahhhh.. Gotcha :)

Personally, I use Lightwave to create the models, I just like the way swapping between editing points and polys is so easy, and the fact that rotating the 3D view is just click and move, I always hated TS's way of doing it, which way long winded, and I tended to keep clicking on a tool by accident and stretching the model or the like :(

The only down-side is that you have to export your models in .obj format and then load it into UVMapper and save it again before anything else will read the UVs properly :(

I texture using Deep Paint 3D and photoshop, Deep Paint is expensive, but an absolute blessing for 3D modellers like me, who tend to self-create practically every texture in the model, you can export the texture to photoshop, with a different layer for bumbs, shine etc and then edit and re-import :D

3D Exploration turns up quite a lot as well, but I actually like to avoid it if possible, it 'intereferes' with models sometimes :(

It's flixible, but if you are working with models that have polygons with >3 sides, it autotripes them when it saves the model. Sometimes it doesn't do too good a job of it with my models. Triangulating it in Lightwave helps, but it's a lot easier UV Mapping a model without them ;)

hmm... TS is being wierd again. it seems that it is, in fact, impossible to make a 'material library', and i relaly need one. how do you add a new texture? i hit 'add' and it just adds the last material i had selected- not very helpful.
