Are we going to have a chance to see this thing later on? It would seem fitting to have them as the crown jewels of Ancient achievement.

I mean in an actual mission or two. :P I can't imagine there would be too many, only a handful in the Ancient's core systems at best.

I would think the Ancients have a lot of them, especially since the Ancients are said to have a huge empire.

Unfortunately not, gary :P The Pyrgos is a whopping 50km long and over 30km across, larger than a small moon. As such, it represents a terrific effort even for the Ancients to make. There is exactly one of them in the Empire, in orbit around the Homeworld. It is a home to the Emperor and what you could call 'the government', and it is known as the Core.

Apart from that, they mostly use smaller installations, like the Thera.

I didn't know it was so big. I thought it was the standard installation, not a structure comparable to a Shivan Hera. I wonder how many normal installations they have (much smaller ones) and how many classes of installations besides this and the Thera.

Strange that the emperor and government is not based on the homeworld itself.

The Pyrgos was comparable to the Hera (Shivan colony) in terms of dimensions and, maybe, purpose.

Bah, that all depends of what continuity you set it in.
