A question for the SCP team

This has been bugging me - I'm currently developing a space sim not unlike freelancer. We've ended up in a little argument over whether or not a spacesim should use traditional XYZ, with XZ being the flat plane in relation to a player's starting orientation and the Y axis to being "up", or if it should use an XY plane in releation to the players starting orientation and have the Z axis be "up" (freelancer did this).

Doesn't FS2 use the default XYZ system?

FS2 uses the traditional form. You only need to place ships in FRED to see that.

Instead of putting 0,2,5 in the normal form, in Freelancer, you put it as 0,5,2

sounds like semantics

(and holy hell 2007 looked like 2009 in that date) :smash:
