Well it happened to me, a virius that not only corrupted the file allocation tables of both my haddrives, but also reset most of my bios settings.. So now i`ve lost everything related to freespace..

All this from a file I downloaded, it waited till easter to wreak havoc on my pc

On Sh*t :(

Do you have backups of most of it?

I had some backups on cd`s, but not all..

But the most recent stuff is lost, like up to 3 months ago..
Didn`t have enough time in the day to keep up to date backups, not while i`m putting in odd hours at work trying to make ends meet..

You know, I thought my firewall and virius scanner would have detected something before hand..

Guess i`ll throw them out the window and :uzi:

Some people just get lucky I think :err:

Only one so far, and it just re-wrote my drive headers, which was moderately easy to rebuild. Oh, and one complete Hardware death, that cost me all the data on that drive, which stung a little worse :(

Having formatted and re-installed windows I found my pc`s preformance has improved dramaticly, and I also got rid of the annoying spyware as a bonus, hehehe.. :D

(edit) I`ve finally got FS2Open to run on this machine woohoo

The new build works like a charm, but I haven`t tried any of the shine or glow maps, have you tried them yet?

yeah, they all look great, even on a 450Mhz, i'm hitting 250+ FPS (yes, 250+) when not in a dogfight... All the new builds will have his memory stuff in it, since thats what CVS does (I just figured that out)... basically, they update the stuff in CVS when its something that was changed or added, and then update the code on their hard drives with that from CVS, and they update from that, so that everything is linear, and there aren't dozens of builds, each with their own purpose...

You probably have VSync turned on, theres no point having a refresh rate faster than your monitor anyway to be honest ;)
