Just watched Spectral - Great film! Like Alien(s) meet Metroid
and dare I mention streaming services are bogged down with many time travel movies and tv shows that are poorly written

Are we talking recent, or is any decade allowed?

Recent is probably a good idea. Maybe keep it within a decade - otherwise too many classics come up.

I like Ex Machina

Hmmm.. The problem is over saturation with the 'superhero' type movies and all these reboots. It really makes it hard to remember any good sci-fi flicks. I suppose 'Moon'? I think that's how it was called.

Interstellar ofcourse. Pretty good movie (up until the weird stuff at least), best seen in the theatre though - or a very good home cinema.

I remember Moon being very good when I watched it but now I remember next to nothing about it. That's probably a good reason to watch it again I suppose.
The only Sci-fi films I've watched recently are the Alien Covenant / Prometheus pair and I'd pretty much advise others not to bother.

That was discussed here. For me the 'xenomorph' parts of Prometheus and Covenant were the worst. I wanted to see more about the engineers. THAT was the interesting parts of those movies.
The Alien Covenant prequel movie thing they released on Youtube was better than the whole f#####g film.

I feel like I've seen Ex Machina before but maybe I just saw a preview. Oh Moon.. I struggled to finish that film and that was when alcohol consumption was at its highest for me - it reminds of Solaris. Interstellar was something different altogether. I saw it at least a year after the release and sparingly since, and I liked the ideas but I didn't take too well to the moments people acted obtusely - in scifi poor decisions don't make sense when your intelligent.
Dredd was good, and if you can watch it, in 3D!

The prologue?

Hahaha. Now I just *have* to see an Attenborough parody with that backdrop.

Always thought Darwinism 101 wouldn't get me far and now I know why. I'm a bigot
For a long moment I actually believed it was Attenborough
