hello all. ive had free space2 since it came out but i never had the time to play it untill now.

my question is, since im going to play this game for the first time i wanted to make it look good with the mod enhances made by the community but theres so many i just dont know wich ones to pick.

wich mods are the most recomended for the original game?

I recommend you use |FreeSpace Open. It'll probably take you a while to go through the entire installation, but it's definitely worth it.

i can go ahead and install the FS2 Source Windows Installer or is te 5.99 purchase still necessary?

If you have the original CDs, you don't need to buy anything extra.

If you have the CDs you don't need to pay anything more.

The cost is simply to obtain a legal copy of the original retail game. Since you already own it you don't need to buy it again.

hello, i was fallowing the instructions for the installation and everything is going well untill i got to step 3

it tells me to download the first set of files

* Readme
* Mod.ini
* Launcher Graphic

but these links do not work so im stuck there.
what should i do?

im playing this beast now and wow what a difference!



i was looking in the enhancements mods page and i noticed lots of ships and retexturings, efects and such,
but they dont have pictures for me to see what they would look like.

is there a mod for ships and/or effects that stand out
above all others?

i mean the game looks great already but is there something more that would be recomended?

Nope, everything looks as pretty as the 3.6.10 MVPs.
