Agreed with ngtm1r. You need to have some basic form or shape to your ship to make it ship like.

You can really only get away with a primitive if you're doing a Borg ship or a cargo crate.

In fact, when I first saw it I thought it was a cargo crate. :\

I actually like the ship-as-a-box design, myself. It's starkly utilitarian, which is what methinks military ships should be (makes me think of the descriptions of some of the ships in the Forever War, for some reason, although only in general terms).

Add some greebles, fine details, etc on the hull sure, but I don't see what's so bad with the shape.

And if you look at the main guns you will notice that theylook different than normal side turrets.
