Another poll regarding the loot. If I am going to use just 'wrecks' for weapons, then what to do about energy and shields? Please vote!

I'm for the support ship idea. Seems fitting for something like Hyperspace.

My only worry about the support ship idea is, what happens when some Robot gets funky ideas and decides to go pewpew the support ship?

The robots will not attack the support ship unless I tell them to. Still, that doesn't mean it will always be available and it might not work at all in multiplayer.

Another benefit of having no shield/energy drops combined with invisible/wreck based powerups is a huge improvement in the framerate. In recent combat tests, 50% of all polys onscreen is spew.

But won't wreckage take up just as much polys as normal spew?

Well, no, because there will be no shield/energy spew. And ofcourse, powerups have to be obtained somehow.. It's just a matter of how they look.

He has this brain controller prototype from leading scientists. He just thinks it and it magically appears. Unfortunately they haven't made it work well for PLAYING the game
