Mission notes

Another level for the Descent 2 Revivals, this time aimed at Hoard. Both the hoard goals are in a tunnel running across the top room of the level, surrounded by grates, which is intended to give a "running the gauntlet" feel to scoring orbs.

The other aspects of the level are a bit... odd. The top half is comprised of large spaces where the relatively low-powered weapons (there is no Gauss or Vulcan, and not all that many missiles) will have trouble connecting. The bottom half is a large nest of tunnels so complicated it will likely take several games to learn, if indeed you can learn it at all. I imagine the orb counts will pile up down there as people struggle to find their way out. It definitely needs eight players, and it's probably too large even for that.

It also has a custom player ship design; I don't remember why I made it other than... I guess I wanted to? Whether it adds to or detracts from the level is hard to say, but it's interesting, to say the least.

As is the name of the level. That wasn't my idea - I was struggling to find a name for it, and one of the other Revival attendees suggested "Moss Clutch". It still sounds a little sketchy to me, but I went with it, and the rest is history...!
